MODEL III COMPUTERS FOR SALE:

III - 26-1062, -1065, -1066)
(1980-1983)
Tandy developed the Model III to sell
alongside the Model I computer however the FCC changed all that and Tandy was
forced to retire the Model I from the marketplace within 6 months of the Model
III being released. The new all-in-one
design was an instant hit with TRS-80 enthusiasts combining all the good
features and software compatibility of the Model I, with nice improvements like
lowercase letters and double density disk drives. A heavy and robust machine its best suited
for those who like to run Model I software but don't like all the cables
joining things together and the five power points you need to make a Model I
system run. The Model IIIs all-in-one design epitomises computer ergonomics of
the early 1980s with the classic look of integrated keyboard, CRT and disk
drives.
All my Model III systems are checked
over, tested extensively and repaired as necessary. They come with a 90 day warranty, just like
Tandy used to offer, and friendly after-sales assistance should something go
wrong after the 90 days is up.

US delivery (was 120V/60Hz now 240V/50Hz) Model III. Factory
48K Ram, dual standard single-sided disk drives (184K each), RS232C port, dual re-capped
power supply, cleaned tested and aligned disk drives. Good condition used
machine, all keys work well.
Now for
the best bit: This machine has been fitted with Radio Shack's Model III
high-resolution graphics board (26-1125).

Be quick! Model IIIs which have the Hi-Res graphics board are very rare
(around 1 in 1000 were upgraded) and the last one of these I had was over 2
years ago. Once this one is sold it may
be years before I have another one for sale.

Microcomputer (to Model 4) (Cat No: 26-1065, S/N: 0011143)
Australianised-US
delivery (was 120V/60Hz now is 240V/50Hz) unit started life out as a 48K single-drive Model
III, and has been tastefully upgraded with Model 4 internals (as per Radio
Shack upgrade option kit 26-1123), and so is fitted with Model 4 single 65W
re-capped power supply, RS232C board, and the drives have been cleaned tested
and aligned. All keys work well - all white keys are nice and white. Cosmetic
condition is quite good with the odd mark and scratch here and there. Great TRS-80 for someone after something
different, a Model 4 which looks like a Model III. $450 includes 90 day warranty (just
like Tandy used to offer). Trade-ins accepted. (Note this computer is also
